Description
4 Brand New Effects. I have not published these effects anywhere.
- Structured Procedure and Setup: Each effect is meticulously detailed with specific setups and methods. Most setups are minimal.
- Audience Management & Psychological Play: The magician’s actions, patter, and even the “illogical” elements are designed to manage spectator perception and prevent suspicion.
- Apparent Fairness: Despite the deception, the goal is often to make the trick appear as if “magic was real,” minimizing suspicious movements.
- Building Impossibility: Effects are structured to eliminate perceived solutions, such as eliminating the idea of a stacked deck by having the spectator shuffle, or ruling out marked cards (optional).
1. Spectator Names Any Card
Effect: The magician places an unknown card face down on the table. A spectator names any card (no force), and when the card is turned over, it matches the named card. This is a fast, hard-hitting effect. A great opener.
2. Single Card Prediction
Effect: Magician makes a prediction. Spectator shuffles the deck and deals cards face down, stopping anywhere. The card they stopped at matches the prediction. Spectator takes the prediction home for a souvenir.
3. The Mysterious Jack of Spades
Effect: a multi-phase effect where the Jack of Spades repeatedly disappears from a small packet of cards and reappears in the main deck. No palming. Eye candy for the spectator.
4. Face Up Face Down Revelation
Effect: The spectator shuffles face-up cards into face-down cards while the magician looks away. Without ever touching the deck, the magician instantly states how many cards are face-up and then identifies the face-down card at any named position the spectator says (no force, no equivoque). This is strong enough to be a closer and it has a 10-second reset.
- Minimal sleight of hand is needed for these effects.
- No electronics.
- No complicated procedures.
