Description

The performer removes a his phone and displays a mysterious postcard that was sent to him by some friends on holiday. However, the friends didn’t say where they were going, and the front of the postcard has images of nearly twenty locations worldwide.

A postcard image similar to this one is shown to the participant.

A participant is asked to choose a couple of locations she knows, then finally settle on just one—all chosen secretly and without the performer knowing.

Without asking a question, the performer describes the location perfectly and then names it.

Of course, the performer is correct.

But the real mystery is that this location is the exact one the performer’s friends had been to, out of all those locations. When the friends returned, they showed the performer the clue on the postcard, which is then shared with the participant.

HOW EASY IS IT?

‘Greetings From Somewhere’ is virtually self-working and doesn’t require special skills. All you need is the special postcards images that are provided.

CAN IT BE REPEATED?

Yes, it can be repeated with different locations from the same postcard image. Or, for a more extensive routine,  you can include more than one person in the performance and have several locations thought of.

DOES IT INVOLVE GUESSWORK?

No. You will know whatever location the person is thinking of instantly. They do not need to say a word or answer a single question.

REVIEWS

A number of people have received advanced review copies of ‘Greetings From Somewhere’ and their reviews will be placed here over the coming weeks.

LUCA VOLPE – REVIEW

Immediately you know exactly what the person is thinking of. NO FISHING and super quickand the locations are different each time.

If you like to perform for longer it is a nice concept to start a conversation. With just one postcard you have a mini-act.

REALLY like it.

JASPER BLAKELEY – REVIEW

Super EASY, super CLEAN, visually unambiguous and a great bridging effect, plus there’s nothing to find by a spectator and it’s totally hands off – clever method.

PHILL SMITH – REVIEW

‘Greetings From Somewhere’ is a new travel themed mentalism routine in Paul Brook’s lineup of neat, self-contained mentalism pieces.

The method is CLEANSIMPLE and cleverly combines a few nice ideas, and the travel themed presentation is accessible and engaging.

It comes with two postcard props, one regular sized for close-up and one jumbo sized for parlour and small stage presentations, and Paul also provides a digital version that you can download to your phone so you are ready to go at a moment’s notice, which is a GREAT IDEA.

MARC PAUL – REVIEW

Paul uses some CLEVER ideas to know what your audience is thinking, at a distance!

I particularly like the kicker convincers.
